Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP)

What is AMEP?

AMEP is funded by the Australian Government.

The Adult Migrant English Program, (AMEP) can assist you to settle into Australia and your local community, by improving your language and employability skills.

AMEP can help you:

improve your language skills
provide study options
find work
find and talk to new friends and neighbours,
settle into Australia.

It doesn’t matter if you have been in Australia for a little or a long time, we understand how important it is to get your life in Australia heading in the right direction. Attending AMEP classes will improve your oral communication, reading and writing skills. AMEP will also improve your practical and knowledge skills. These may include using money, using transport and looking at travel options, exploring our culture and the local community, getting work ready and much more.

Benefits

Pre-Employment Stream

This stream focuses on improving your English language skills to help you get a job or continue in further study of your choice.

In addition to helping you settle into Australia, you’ll learn English specific to the workplace and gain a better understanding of workplace culture.

You’ll learn how to write job applications and prepare for job interviews.

Social English Stream

This stream focuses on improving your everyday English language skills to help you settle into life in Australia.

You will learn how to communicate in a variety of everyday situations to help you become part of your local community, including how to access a range of local community and government services.

Are you eligible?

If your answer 'yes' to the below, you're eligible for the free AMEP program.

Are you aged over 18 years (some under 18s may be eligible)?
Are you a migrant or humanitarian entrant?
Do you have a permanent visa, or an eligible temporary visa?
Do you need to improve your English skills?

You don’t need a referral to AMEP, you can just contact us.
